Title: Level 23-ID — "Megamendung"
Author: lemme
Release: 2023

- {$three}.
Description
Megamendung is a residential area believed to have an unlimited size. This level is characterized by its darkness, as if it were nighttime. This can be seen from the lights of houses and streets that are on; however, on one side of the sky, there is a yellowish-orange line of light stretching horizontally as far as the eye can see. This line indicates that the level is actually in daylight, but the thick clouds at this level cause it to be as dark as night. Due to its striking color, this line is used as a primary navigational guide by survivors.
The "light line"
This level has a fairly cool temperature and is very windy; occasionally, light rain falls, and the sound of thunder can be heard from a distance. All of this gives the impression that a severe storm is about to come, even though the storm has not yet occurred as of the time this text was written. The overcast clouds on this level appear to be “locked in” because the light line and the appearance of the clouds remain unchanged no matter how strong the wind blows on the level; the light line also never appears to dim or be obscured by clouds, and it is suspected that this level does not have a day-night cycle.
The houses on this level vary in design and size and are neatly arranged along the roadside; all the houses are unlocked, so anyone can enter them. The interiors of the houses are not much different from most houses on Earth, featuring furniture, electrical appliances with working power, and a water supply that functions normally. Food can be found in the refrigerator in the kitchen; this food is known not to expire but its quantity is limited in each house.
The houses
The roads at this level are made of asphalt that appears wet, as if it has just rained; rows of lush, wet trees are also neatly arranged along the roadside, and orange streetlights illuminate the area around the roads. The roads are known to lack a regular layout, as in some places they overlap or pass through a house, yet the roads can still be mapped out clearly. On rare occasions, a strange phenomenon on the streets affects survivors, where this phenomenon teleports survivors passing through the streets to another location not too far from their original spot—as if suddenly moved several meters away. However, this phenomenon is considered not too dangerous or disorienting for survivors.
Although this level is known to be more “normal” compared to others, there are other unique elements found here, such as:
- Trees and streetlights that appear to be floating—which are now fenced off, and survivors are asked not to approach the area.
- Lightning that occasionally appears repeatedly and illuminates the level for several minutes, strangely without producing any sound.
- The sound of the wind on this level is known to have a calming effect and sounds like a soft whistle; sometimes this sound is in sync with the sound of thunder heard in the distance.
- Every house is always in a state of being “recently used” or “currently occupied,” such as: messy mattresses as if just used, dirty dishes that haven’t been washed, laundry that’s been washed and is ready to be hung out to dry, and piles of trash ready to be thrown into the trash can.
Objects such as Almond Water can still be found easily but not in large quantities. There are no entities on this level, making it relatively safe to inhabit. Survivors usually visit this level just to stop by or claim one of the houses as their home, though some are known to have looted the furniture to take to other levels.
Bases, Outpost, and Communities
Due to its relatively safe nature and stable resources, this level is gradually being taken over by survivors as a place to live.
Entrance and Exits
Entrances
- Entering the door that looks wet and fogged up on the 23rd floor of the Crematorium will lead survivors to this level. Similar doors can be found in the Cheese Apartment and Shortcuts.
- This level can be accessed by passing through an alley that looks as if it has just been hit by rain in Industrial Suburbia, the location of which has been marked by the Abiprasada Cêmani group.
- This level can be accessed by traveling by vehicle for several days from Mega Langit Bridge, however, the known requirement to reach this level is that the Mega Langit Bridge must be experiencing rain.
- Noclip on the elevation displaying an image of a settlement with flashes in the sky in Saneless Show. The same image can be found as a painting in Balihud Hotel.
Exits
- Noclipping on a floating streetlight will send the survivor to Hollow Memories.
- Entering the garden in a backyard (the location of this house is marked) can lead the survivor to Land of Earth. If it is a cornfield, it will send the survivor to Night Watchman.
- There is a small chance to go to Saneless Show by using noclip on televisions found in houses.
- Entering the bushes can take survivors to Silent Ascent.
- Entering a gate shaped like a temple gate will take survivors to Prambanian (low probability) or Balihud Hotel.
