Description
Gloomy Office
As the name suggests, this level is a darker version of the “Old Office” level, where the lack of lighting gives the area a gloomy, abandoned feel. The area is much more expansive, with a labyrinth of corridors and rooms that can disorient the Survivor. Unlike the Old Office, the entire Gloomy Office tends to be in a state of disarray, and the air is quite heavy due to dust and other fine particles. Because of the darkness, bringing a light source such as a flashlight is essential when exploring this level. Light switches can be found in several locations and can be flipped on, though unfortunately, only one or two lights will turn on. This level is also very quiet, which can give the Survivor a sense of isolation; combined with the absence of entities or other survivors, this makes the Survivor feel as though they are the only living being in this level.
Office equipment, similar to that found in the Old Office, can also be found, though it is dirty and covered in dust; none of this equipment is known to turn on or function properly. Sanitary facilities, such as bathrooms, are also in poor condition, and there is no running water inside them. There are no objects or resources that the Survivor can utilize within this level. Windows can be found in several locations, offering a view of a cluster of trees on a dark night, but these windows cannot be opened, and the glass cannot be broken. It remains unknown whether the Gloomy Office is located beneath the Old Office, as no way has yet been found to prove this; however, survivors who have visited this level mostly support this theory.
It is not recommended to linger in this level because the location of the exit is unclear, so it is advisable to find it first. Additionally, the uncomfortable air quality and the level’s highly isolating nature can gradually take a toll on a Survivor’s mental state. Traces left behind by survivors who have previously visited this level, such as notes or scribbles on the walls, will vanish, making any attempt to leave information for other survivors futile. The level’s seemingly “unchangeable” nature also affects navigation, as attempts to leave traces of the path already taken will vanish as if swallowed by the level’s darkness, even moving large objects as markers will cause them to return to their original positions, and taking items out of the level will also cause them to return to their original locations.
Entrance and Exit
Entrance
This level can only be entered when a movement error occurs with the elevator—that is, instead of going up, it goes down after pressing a button to go to another level. This happens quite rarely, and the Survivor can immediately close the elevator doors and press the number button again to leave this level.
Exit
Survivors must find another elevator to exit. The location of this elevator isn’t always fixed, but survivors don’t need to wait for it to arrive because its doors will always be open and illuminated. To find this elevator, survivors simply need to follow their instincts while exploring the level’s corridors—this usually works. To go to another level, the process is the same as in the Old Office: press the number buttons on the elevator wall.
