Description
Directionless Parking Yard
As the name suggests, Directionless Parking Yard is a shopping mall-style parking yard from Earth of unknown size; this parking yard is always shrouded in darkness and covered in a thin fog. The level’s appearance is very simple and indeed resembles an Earth-style parking yard, featuring black asphalt with white markings, directional signs, and a small booth with a barrier where transactions take place. However, none of the directional signs or road markings lead anywhere; the small booth for making payments is always empty and bears no information; and there is no one else in the level besides the survivor themselves. Four-wheeled vehicles can be found scattered across many locations, but they will always be locked and out of fuel, so few survivors are interested in taking these vehicles away.
Rows of buildings that appear to function as shops/kiosks can be found scattered about and are the only concrete structures in the level; though they are empty and mostly inaccessible, they can still be used as resting spots or navigation markers. All trees within the level are dead, while hedges and grass appear to grow without issue; furthermore, no animals or entities are found within this level. The pitch-black sky, devoid of celestial bodies, means the only light source comes from streetlights standing upright and illuminating nearly the entire area of the level. Testimonies from survivors indicate that some of these lights are unstable; survivors may encounter lights that suddenly grow brighter, suddenly go out, or even explode for no apparent reason. However, entering the dark areas where there is no lighting is highly recommended, as it is the best way to exit the level.
The level is generally silent, though some accounts mention that the sound of vehicle engines or distant rumbling can be heard within the level—sounds that do not grow louder even after walking a considerable distance to approach them. A sense of unease may also set in after spending a considerable amount of time inside the level, such as: the feeling of being watched, fatigue from the monotonous atmosphere, a sense of isolation, and other feelings commonly experienced in various empty levels. Survivors may come across remnants of other survivors’ lives, such as trash or abandoned tents. However, finding other survivors is considered impossible because no one has ever reported an encounter with fellow survivors within the level; even exploring in a group would only result in everyone becoming separated within the level. Attempts to establish a wireless communication link are also known to be impossible because the network is severely disrupted, and the signal received by the transmitter is filled only with a constant humming sound.
Additional Information: Theory
Strangely, survivors do not feel tired, thirsty, or hungry after walking for a long time within the level, leading to a certain assumption. Survivors believe that the fog in this level is Almond Water in vapor form because a faint almond scent can be detected everywhere; this is also what keeps survivors feeling refreshed, as they are indirectly consuming Almond Water with every breath, and the absence of any entities further supports this theory. Whether this is true or not remains a topic of discussion among survivors who have visited or are currently visiting this level. There are no resources or objects to be found, but survivors won’t feel the need for them because of the refreshing effect they constantly experience while inside the level.
Entrances and Exits
Entrances
The entrance to this level can be found in parking yards located on various urban-themed levels—finding and entering a parking yard gives you the chance to enter this level. The parking yards that serve as entrances have distinct characteristics, such as: the surrounding sounds suddenly falling silent, the sky gradually darkening as you walk, and the presence of a thin mist that can be seen suddenly forming in the air. Survivors can prevent themselves from entering the level if they walk back to where they came from.
Examples of parking yards that can serve as entry points to the level include:
- A parking yard that suddenly appears at the edge of the deadly circles,
- A small parking yard amidst dense buildings that evokes a sense of nostalgia,
- Parking lots at various shopping centers in the industrial suburbs,
- A small parking area on the edge of the road on a bridge in the sky,
- and so on.
Exits
- Entering the dark area will randomly transport survivors to various urban-themed levels. This is the easiest way to exit the level, though this dark area is usually quite far from the survivor’s current location; however, lucky survivors may find it quite close to them.
- One of the locked kiosks has a passage leading to another level themed as a shopping mall; however, not all kiosks have this passage, and the destination level is also random. Exiting via this route is not recommended because it is very difficult to force open the kiosk.
- Taking control of a car and driving it along the lit path will lead the survivor to a bridge in the sky. The surrounding atmosphere will change on its own, and please remember to prepare fuel in advance before taking a car on this level.
